Werte der Kinder meets CVOVS Uganda
In October 2025, three board members of Werte der Kinder traveled from Oldenburg to Uganda to gain an up-to-date insight into the work being done there. The 17 days were filled with visits: We were able to talk to pupils at primary and secondary schools about their ideas for the future, visit children in the support program in their homes, and talk to parents and teachers about the children's needs and wishes. This gave us an insight into the lives and everyday routines of many young people, and we would like to say thank you for the warm welcome and open exchange!

In conversation with the director: Keti and Sonny discuss the education system and the consequences of underfunded schools.

The joy was great, especially among the very young!

Nyere Secondary School: After a double lesson on developing perspectives after school, the volleyball net was unpacked so that physical training would not be neglected.

We were able to visit “our oldest child” at boarding school: Mengo Secondary School.
Prischilar is now nearing graduation and is aiming for a high school diploma, which will allow her to study medicine afterwards.

We were able to make a total of three house visits. We were given a very warm welcome on each occasion and received gifts of fresh fruit and vegetables from the hosts' own gardens.
Of course, there was also a meeting with the volunteers from CVOVS Uganda. After getting to know each other and a brief account of the organization's founding history, the main topics of discussion were the necessary support for the children in the different school classes and the available resources.
Result: The donations already support 10 children, enabling them to attend school regularly without having to worry about money on a daily basis! However, in order to expand our aid, further financial resources are needed. Find out how YOU can help here.

However, learning at school is not possible without basic needs being met: clean drinking water is a valuable and absolutely essential resource, especially in the development of young people. That is why the board of Werte der Kinder e.V. (Children's Values Association) has installed a 5,000-liter water tank on the grounds of Kasunganyanja Primary School as a thank you for the close cooperation and long-term investment in the children's health. Rainwater is collected from the school's cleaned roofs and fed into the tank, where it is used by the children for daily cooking, washing up, and drinking.
