Our first fundraiser
On Saturday 09.04. a fundraiser took place in Oldenburg during a street festival on Groninger Strasse. Money was collected here for Ukrainian refugees and for CVOVS. At the same time, we were able to present our young organization to the actors and visitors and recruit interested parties for a partner association in Germany. We are very happy that so many people want to help us! Thank you for the donations, your ideas and your support!

We get a big donation
In mid-December, we were invited to the Berufsbildende Schule Technik in Cloppenburg. There, a Christmas bazaar with lots of delicious food, drinks, handicrafts and a raffle took place, through which the students, teachers, parents and supporters of the school collected donations. Through Keti's contacts, CVOVS was the lucky recipient of that money this year. We had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the whole school and to advertise our new association "Werte de Kinder". Afterwards the chairwoman of CVOVS, Keti Kajumba, was able to receive the donations herself.
We would like to thank BBS Cloppenburg very much for supporting us with this money! It will benefit the children in Uganda supported by CVOVS and will make an important contribution to their education.
Thank you!
Here you can inform yourself about the donation of BBS Cloppenburg:

Information evening on the Ugandan school system -
with Prof. Dr. Violet Kajubiri-Froelich

The differences between the Ugandan and German education systems are huge. In order to understand how colonial rule in Uganda influenced the school system there and what consequences the current situation has on the population, we invited a guest : Dr. Violet Kajubiri-Froelich. She is an education expert and works as such in the Ministry of Education in Uganda. With her specialist knowledge, she was able to give us an in-depth insight into the situation of schools and schoolchildren in Uganda and answer interested questions from the audience.
We would like to thank you very much for your multifaceted presentation, your commitment and your insight into the topic!
We would also like to thank the IGS Flötenteich school for generously providing the premises and equipment, without which the evening would not have been possible!

Human Rights Day in Oldenburg! And we are there!

In order to celebrate the diversity of the people of this earth and to draw attention to the situations of people in other regions of the world, associations and initiatives organized Human Rights Day on sunny Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. And of course we, as a regional association, were there too, talking to people and making contact with other associations.
At this point, a big thank you to the Oldenburg Ecumenical Center (ÖZO) for the invitation and the commitment to planning this day!
You can find more information about the event here: Human Rights Day in Oldenburg: Celebrating democracy and diversity on September 21st

A visitor in Uganda!
From December 2024 to January 2026, one of our board members from Werte der Kinder e.V. visited our partner association CVOVS in Uganda. He arrived with donated school materials and equipment for the local office. The community welcomed him with open arms, as is customary in Uganda, and was delighted with the visit from abroad. Traditionally, he was invited to be the guest of honour at a ceremony organized for him by the families and friends of CVOVS. They danced, ate and exchanged views on the current developments of the associations and their cooperation. If you would like to find out more about the visit, you can read Hilmar's report here
We are greatful for the cooperation and happy to send all our kids back to school!

Human Rights Day of 2025: Oldenburg is joining forces

It's that time of year again: September 13, 2025, was this year's Human Rights Day. This time, it was combined with Future Day, and both events took place on the beautiful Schlossplatz in Oldenburg's city center.
We were delighted with the large turnout, even though the weather wasn't too inviting at first.
Thank you for all the inspiring conversations and the advice from the volunteer-community!
